In A Crease of Time

Apr 27th 2023

Suppose you have determined to go your own way. You know God, not intellectually like some, but you really know Him and His power. Yet, you have determined that in this thing, perhaps only this time, you will go your way.

In fact, because you are firm in your determination, you will also avoid God until the deed is done. You will plan your avoidance, along with your eventual repentance. After all, we know that He will forgive.

As it happens, someone depends on you--perhaps your child, or younger sibling, or mate. Someone who has never had the relationship with God you enjoy. Perhaps this individual is too young for spiritual concerns and is totally dependent on your care for the necessities of life, as well as planning for their future. Your wisdom and guidance come through prayer. With prayer, you touch His heart and tap into All wisdom. Being close to Him, totally cloaked in His will, His guidance is there, even when you least expect it, or realize its impact.

At any rate, by your determination, for this small crease of time, you are unconnected--with no covering, unable to stand in the gap, even for yourself.

Now we know Satan is not omnipresent like God; but, might he know? Might it come to his attention? Being skilled in his craft, might he be ready for such a moment as this, when he can do the most harm, using your transgression to cause God the most harm by . . .

Certainly, it is your life. But what of the others? What might be done during this short holiday from God that you might have prevented? Perhaps nothing will come of this? Perhaps you are safe in this thing? But do you really want to risk it?

Ezekiel 22:30 (KJV) And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.
