This is the pattern for prayer Jesus gave his disciples for all time:

Matthew 6:9-13 (KJV)

       After this manner therefore pray ye:

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.  10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven.  11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.  13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine in the kingdom, and the power and the glory, for ever.  Amen.

The guidance given above set the paramaters for all prayer to God.

And now, 

Heavenly Father, who reigns above all, who by Your might have created all and hold all together by Your word. 

Even now, let Your will be done.  Let Your kingdom reign in our hearts today  as we go forward from here.  Today we seek strength, guidance, and wisdom.  Yet, we know we need more ---

    by Your Holy Spirit heal us this day, comfort us and provide us all that You know we need.  Identify to us wrongs we've forgotten and show us how to make them right.  Remember that we are human and do not know how we ought to pray, and for that reason we need the surrender to  Holy Spirit who knows all.  We forgive all hurts and wrongs as You have done for us.  Straighten our walk that we might not be tempted by all that is in the world.  Provide all that we need this day, including wisdom.

For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory are Yours now and forever.  Amen
